Car Insurance Premiums Decrease

It has recently been reported that the price of car insurance premiums so far this year have seen a decrease of 4.1%. The drop in prices is said to be a result of increased competition between insurance firms to offer cheaper deals as well as changes in the law. Car insurance policyholders have suffered dramatic premium increases over the past three years, but now that cycle has come to an end. The average of the cheapest deals is now between £700 and £800.

Car Insurance Premiums for Young People could be lowered with Better Training

In a bid to reduce the extortionate prices of car insurance premiums for young people, the government is preparing to introduce new rules hoped to improve on the safety of young drivers behind the wheel, reducing the risk of collisions and subsequently giving insurers more incentive to lower car insurance premiums. The news follows statistics that suggest in 2011 one fifth of all collisions on the UK’s roads involved a driver aged between 17 and 25. In addition to some of the rule changes outlined below for younger drivers, the government is also considering improving the training processes driving instructors are required to go through.
